About Me

-
When I had my first miscarriage at age twenty-eight, the bricks holding up my marriage came tumbling down and we divorced soon after.
-
I remarried at age thirty-four and had another miscarriage.
-
We began an open adoption process.
-
As we waited to be selected by a birth mother, I discovered that I was pregnant and we had a beautiful baby girl.
-
Three years later after another miscarriage, we began an open adoption process again and after two years on the waiting list, the adoption agency closed without warning.
-
After months of soul searching, we initiated an international adoption plan and successfully welcomed a seven-year-old girl from an orphanage in Cuernavaca, Mexico.
-
Family life did not go as planned.
-
I wrote a book about our journey to expand the conversation around adoption and to prepare parents for the simultaneous joyous and tumultuous ride ahead.

My personalized approach in a comfortable and supportive space is a valuable first step.
