Adoption Life Coach

About Me

  • When I had my first miscarriage at age twenty-eight, the bricks holding up my marriage came tumbling down and we divorced soon after.

  • I remarried at age thirty-four and had another miscarriage.

  • We began an open adoption process.

  • As we waited to be selected by a birth mother, I discovered that I was pregnant and we had a beautiful baby girl.

  • Three years later after another miscarriage, we began an open adoption process again and after two years on the waiting list, the adoption agency closed without warning.

  • After months of soul searching, we initiated an international adoption plan and successfully welcomed a seven-year-old girl from an orphanage in Cuernavaca, Mexico.

  • Family life did not go as planned.

  • I wrote a book about our journey to expand the conversation around adoption and to prepare parents for the simultaneous joyous and tumultuous ride ahead.
